“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Matthew 28:19-20, KJV
Ministry in Papua New Guinea
In the Lord’s timing, I will return to the village of Aibai in the Simbu Province of PNG and will continue working with the Berbins, the Crains, Belinda Richter, and Rachel Langendorfer. We minister in churches in the villages of Aibai and Kilau. I will continue my personal ministry to women and young people, teach Sunday school, and serve in other church ministries. I will also continue teaching at South Simbu Christian Academy.
Rebekah Crain started South Simbu Christian Academy in 2001. She and her husband, Matthew, oversee the school and teach classes too. The school exists to train young people to love and serve God as pastors, teachers, missionaries, and well-grounded lay people. When enough teachers are available, we bring in a new K4 class and continue teaching them as they advance through the grades.
This ministry takes up most of my time, but gives me many opportunities to disciple my students so I can fulfill Christ’s Great Commission by “teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” I taught the same group of students throughout my first three years. During the last year I taught them math and science, and I had the opportunity to teach another class as well. But my greatest blessing was seeing students come to know the Lord and watching many of them mature in their relationship with Him.
In the past, the Lord has provided short-term teachers for the school, but this year the school will consist of just one grade level as we wait for Him to send more teachers. Please pray that He will provide the teachers we need, and that I will be able to return soon to continue teaching.
